Appledore, North Devon

The quaint fishing village of Appledore on the Torridge Estuary offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants serving good food and all within a short walk of the house. Appledore is famous for its cobbled streets ship building, gig racing and book fairs.

The Seagate Hotel

The newly refurbished 17th Century Inn, overlooking the Torridge Estuary in the quaint fishing village of Appledore. Located on the Quay at Appledore, you can watch the sun go down from the Terrace seating and walled garden. Serving breakfast lunch and dinner, dogs and muddy boots welcome.

Sylvester's Fish & Chip Shop set just off the front in Appledore, they do lovely fish and chips and while you wait for your freshly cooked food enjoy a pleasent conversation with the ever jolly staff.

With far reaching views over to Braunton and a traditional pub feel the Beaver Inn does lovely food. You can dine on the patio, or in the pub with your canine friend, or in the dining room and watch the fishing boats come in on the top of the tide, bringing home the catch of the day.

The local convenience store / Cafe / butcher / delicatessen. The shop is just a 6 minute walk from the house and has a good range of products from fresh bread to wine, what more could you want!
